There are tons of reasons, but five include:
1. Overhunted by humans (or other predators)
2. Their environment is rendered unlivable (destroyed in some way such as pollution or razed for other uses) and they cannot move somewhere else so, lacking somewhere to live, they all die. (Climate changes are related to this as well.)
3. Too much competition for land or resources (a new animal or plant may come and take all of the resources)
4. An animal or plant on which they depended (such as for a main food source) becomes extinct and so they become extinct as well (coextinction)
5. A disease affects the entire population and wipes it out.
Three causes for extinction would be disease (biotic), habitat degradation to include invasive species introduction (biotic and abiotic), and climate change (abiotic).
A less prevalent but obvious cause would be cosmic (examples would be asteroid or radiation).
There are over 15 causes of extinction. The top five causes are habitat destruction, invasive species, pollution, population, over harvesting and over hunting.
The four major causes for the loss of habitat are:- * habitat destruction* over harvesting of species on a commercial scale* introduction of other species from other habitats* pollution

The white Bengal tiger is a genetic anomaly, at present none are in the wild. They are merely Bengal tigers, not a separate race or species, and white cubs can be born in normal colored litters. The loss of habitat, previous uncontrolled hunting, and the constant threat of poaching has led to the endangerment of all tigers.
