There are many reasons why animals get extinct. One reason is pollution. Everyday, humans throw litter in bodies of water and ride cars, which harms many animals. Another reason is because of habitat loss. Humans also cut down trees in rain-forests just to make space for new roads and such. The third reason is because of predators. When the population of a predator of a species suddenly increases, the population of the prey decreases, making it extinct. The fourth reason is because of long-term environment trends. One example is the dinosaurs, which, according to scientists, became extinct because of a slow cooling of the Earth. The last reason is because of hunting. Many animals became extinct because of hunting.
