The most babies that have been known to haven given birth at once is 9 babies. But the most children in one pregnancy (with fertilization) is 15, but none of them survived. Without fertilization though, the most kids in one pregnancy is 12, but none survive sadly.
Eight babies born together are called octuplets
No, it is not possible for a person to have 20 babies at the same time. The human body is not physically capable of carrying and delivering that many babies in a single pregnancy. Additionally, the risks to both the mother and babies would be extremely high in such a situation.
Babies form in an organ called an uterus, where the babies are kept in an amniotic sac (their "water"). It is POSSIBLE for a woman to have up to 8 babies. Most women have a single fetus - one baby. Some women can have twins - two babies, either fraternal (they look exactly alike) or non-fraternal (not identical). Then, often with fertility treatments, some women can bear 3 to 8 fetuses as one pregnancy. The more fetuses that are present in one pregnancy, the higher the risks to the babies and the mom.
