C3 plants fix Carbon to rubisco. When they close their stomates, it interrupts the Calvin cycle and photorespiration, in which rubisco binds to O2, can occur. This is bad for the plant.

What do c3 and c4 plants have in common?

C3 and C4 plants are named after the number of carbon molecules in the first products of their carbon fixation cycles. C3 plants produce 3-phosphoglycerate and C4 plants produce Oxaloacetate.

What is the value of Carbon dioxide compensation point in C3 and C4 plants respectively?

Around 50ppm for C3 plants and around 5ppm for C4 plants.

Where does the Calvin Cycle occur in C3 plants?

The Calvin Cycle occurs in the stroma of the chloroplast in C3 plants. This cycle is part of the light-independent reactions of photosynthesis where carbon dioxide is converted into sugar molecules using ATP and NADPH generated during the light-dependent reactions.

Are C3 or C4 plants aquatic?

The plants which live in water are aquatic plants.

How do C4 and C3 plants differ?

C4 plants have an extra step in their photosynthetic pathway to minimize photorespiration, allowing them to be more efficient in hot and dry conditions compared to C3 plants. C4 plants, like corn and sugarcane, have specialized leaf anatomy with separate cells for carbon fixation, while C3 plants, like wheat and rice, lack this specialization.

Monocots.

Do C3 plants make glucose?

Yes it can

What would be the expected effect on plants if the atmospheric co2 concentration was doubled?

Since C4 plants need for CO2 is more than C3 plants, doubling the concentration of CO2 will have more positive effect on C4 plants. If CO2 is a limiting factor for photosynthesis, both C3 & C4 plants will have positive effect.
