Most of the houses in china are connected, that means they are houses that are joined together. The traditional Chinese houses are colours of black , white, beige, orange, red etc. Also they have a series of roofs. That means they more than one roof on their house. To see a picture of a Chinese house go on google images and search Chinese houses or traditional Chinese houses. The multiple roofs have the edges pointed somewhat upward in mostly colors of a dark red with some sunny yellow(also darkish grey). The houses themselves are many stories high and ground level. For poorer houses, they are mainly made of mudbricks and mostly one story.
Chinese temples are commonly referred to as "buddhist temples" or "daoist temples," depending on the religious affiliation. They may also be called "joss houses" in some regions.
