Emmett has two different opinions of Bella. The two change from before he knew her and Edward's feeling for her to when he does. At first Emmett sees Bella as a threat to the Cullen family just as Rosalie and Jasper do and is willing to kill her. However once he learned how Edward felt he was no longer willing to take such drastic measures. Once he meets Bella he thinks of her as being nice and entertaining. Eventually it is commonly believed that he thinks of her as a sister who he is willing to protect.
