German shepherds are unique beyond any other dogs. They are amazingly intelligent. They have extremely readable expressions on their faces and sweet unique personalities. They are protective and loyal yet welcoming herding dogs. They are all different. Mine is gentle and tender, a mother who could never have pups, always worrying about the family and trying to do good. My grandma's shepherd, however, is a playful mischief maker who is unique and also unlike any other dog. He loves to bound around the yard and taunt and tease his owners, wagging his tail. Although he tries to protect his owner, whenever someone comes into the yard, he barks protectively, but in a shrill yelping bark. :) Such a funny dog.
A German Shepherd dog or GSD for short is a well-proportioned, muscular yet trim dog with stand up ears. This breed has almond-shaped eyes with a lively, intelligent expression and their bushy tail hangs down.
Their coat color can be black and tan predominantly but can be gray/blue or brown/liver.
German Shepherds are known most commonly in black and tan as a colour, although solid black, sable and white can also be seen.
They are of a sturdy build, similiar to that of a wolf, with strong legs and an arched neck.
They have upright ears and a long muzzle.
Male Shepherds are quite regal looking and the females more petite, with feminin features.
A German Shepherd should be protective yet loving animal who does his best to always please you.
They are a high energy breed and will train you if you don't train them though.
the GSD is a very smart dog he can learn many things and in a short time as he is the third smartest dog in the world.
I love german sheperds but they sort of have the same

You should call animal control in your town and file a complaint. I would then sue the owner of the German Shepherd IF your dog was on a leash, the German Shepherd was NOT on a leash and IF your dog was not on the German Shepherd's property.I'm sorry for your loss, that is terrible :(
