What are Heterototrophs?

organisms that are unable to produce food by themselves. Plants are not heterotrophs, they on the other hand are autotrophs. The word hetero means other and troph means feeder. Auto means self. Heretrotrphs often produce energy by cellular respiration (the opposite of photosynthesis)
