Islamic festivals at the time of Prophet were just two.
1) Eid ul Azha -- The day Prophet Abraham was tested by God for if he sacrifices his Son on God's order, Muslims try to remember that day with scarifying an animal as Prophet Abraham did after God replaced his Son with sheep.
2) Eid ul Fitr -- The day after a month of fasting

There are Islamic Holidays such as Eid AlFitr and Eid Aladha. Eid alfitr comes after the holy month of Ramadan when Muslims fast from sunrise till sunset every day of the month, the holiday eid alfitr then comes to celebrate for the Muslims who have fasted this month(eid is Arabic for holiday)
Eid Aladha (adha means sacrifice) is a holiday to remember when one of Allah's (God's) Prophets had a dream, in his dream Allah told him that he must sacrifice his son for Allah's sake. The Prophet was very sad but wanted to obey his Creator so he told his son, and his son agreed. When he was about to kill his son, Allah told him not to, and that this was just a test for him to see if he obeys or not. Allah then ordered him to sacrifice a sheep instead. So every eid Aladha Muslims sacrifice a sheep or goat, some of the meat is given to the poor and some of it is used to make lunch.
