you pay use tax when you eventually register it in washington.... DMV will collect the fee... if you paid sales tax elsewhere, you will get credit for taxes already paid (difference between sales tax paid and WA use tax). the use tax is the same as sales tax. there is a 0.3% motor vehicle tax as well. I think the only exemption is if you bought the car 6 months before you moved to the state (you must show proof you were not a resident of WA at the time of purchase and the vehicle was registered continuously out of state until you moved) they have cracked down on people parking cars in Oregon for several months prior to registering in WA to avoid the tax. doing that is illegal. By law if you are a resident of WA at the time you purchased the car and it is intended to be used in WA you must pay the tax... now if you are a student or other worker temporarily relocated and can prove you were living out of state for 6 mos while you owned the vehicle I think you may be exempted. call DMV to verify...

Will paying off charge offs result in a lower credit score?

Maybe, maybe not. Credit scores are calculated based on all the information in a consumer's credit report. It is impossible to guess the exact repercussions of one item on that score, in most instances. The factor that causes the highest deductions to the score is when a derogatory item was last updated/reported on the bureau. If a charged off account is being currently reported/updated, (or that date falls within the last 12 months), this hits the score in the history category. History accounts for 35% of the score. Paying off an account like this would MOST LIKELY not cause deductions. If, on the other hand, the charge off has not been updated in some time; paying if off would make it a zero balance account as of NOW. The updated status of "paid charge off" would bring such an account within the past 12 months and would IN THIS INSTANCE cause deductions to the score. How much of a deduction would, once again, depend on ALL the informaiton showing in a consumer's report.

Do you have to charge sales tax on furniture you deliver out of state from your MA store?

Nope. Even if it's delivered out of state to a MA resident, it becomes THEIR problem to pay the necessary use tax if they bring it into the state within 6 months.

How does one cash a check at a bank?

It is best to cash a cheque at your personal bank to avoid fees. If you do not have a personal account with any banks, then go to the bank that the cheque was issued from. Make sure the cheque is not over 6 months old. You will need to bring a current I.D. You will endorse the back of the cheque and give it to the teller.

What are the benefits of disposing of accounts receivables?

Accurate costing and controlling cost measures help to take important managerial decisions. Hence all credit based amounts should be disposed off for better accuracy. If they are unpaid, they become a bad debt expense. Trouble in collecting debts will also bring trouble in paying bills. Hence all accounts receivables should be disposed off as early as possible.
