What would happen if you mixed a hypertonic solution and a hypotonic solution?
Hyper tonic solution have high concentration of solute and less concentration of water. Hypo tonic solution have less concentration of solute and high concentration of water. Gatorade is an example of hypo tonic solution. When two solutions are mixed together, isotonic state is achieved. Cells try to maintain isotonic situations across their cell membrane.
