http://www.eatingdisordersonline.com/explain/anorexianervosasigns.php Anorexia is defined by being 20% below the recommended body weight. In order to maintain their low body weight, anorexics will often times avoid normal activities- so as not to have to deal with facing the food. You'll notice that their clother are much larger on them, their faces appear gaunt, their eyes sunken in. Their hair may appear lack luster and brittle as well as their nails. Their period's become irregular and eventually cease to comes, as their body's lack the nutrition they require. Often times anorexics will also develop a layer of hair along the arms (their body's way of trying to keep warm). If you think your friend suffers from anorexia, talk to him or her about it. if they arent up for listening, or you lack the ability to properly help them, its important to speak to someone who can - a parent, school therapist, counselor etc
