in amorphous solids, the particles aren't arranged in a regular pattern. Unlike a crystalline solid, an amorphous solid does not melt at a distinct temperature. instead, it may become softer or change into other substances.

Why do some solids flow?

Some solids can flow because their particles are able to move past each other easily. This is typically seen in solids with weak intermolecular forces or in amorphous materials where the particles are not arranged in a regular pattern. Examples include powders, sand, and some plastics.

How do crystalline solids differ from amorphus solids?

Crystalline solids have a well-ordered arrangement of particles in a repeating pattern, leading to defined geometric shapes and distinct melting points, whereas amorphous solids lack a long-range order in their atomic structure, resulting in a random arrangement of particles and no sharp melting point. Crystalline solids exhibit cleavage and anisotropy, while amorphous solids do not have cleavage planes and display isotropic properties.

Which is a solid ionic metallic molecular or amorphus?

Ionic compounds, metallic bonded substances and amorphous substances are typically solids under normal conditions. Molecular solids generally have lower melting points so the vast majority ill be gases or liquids. A significant number with large molecules will also be solids, e.g. waxes.

Crystalline solids have a particular geometric organization of their atoms. Amorphous solids do not.
