Because of their size, angelfish are an easy target for most any other predator. They are preyed on by larger fish, sharks and rays. Angelfish also find themselves in the tentacles of sea anemones. But angelfish have the ability to escape these predators with their speed, using it to slip into crevices in the coral. An angelfish's biggest predator is man. Some people put poison in the water simply to stun any angelfish and all the other creatures of the reef, causing them to float to the surface, making them easy to collect. The fish that are gathered are sold to people to put in their aquariums and to restaurants for food. The fish that aren't gathered usually die or eventually regain consciousness, but they aren't really the same after the experience.
