The Base Camp at the bottom of Mount Everest is used as a 'home' for the climbers who intend to climb to the summit and back. In Base Camp the climber would prepair themselve for their climb, eat and drink well, get plenty of rest and sleep and also let their body aclimatise to the high altitude.
