SEA BASS

The sea bass love surf and strong tide over rocks or reefs.Bass are often found close to shore with accurate casting in the surf frequently the key to successful bait and lure fishing for the species. Bass are a shoal fish, find one and there will be more, although the larger fish may be solitary. This may be because the orthers in the shoal have been caught or died. Never attempt to gaff bass, their armoured scales deflect the sharpest point. It is best to net them or from the shore grab the lower jaw. Beware sharp gill edges if you lift them by the gills.
