No, lice do not come from fleas. Lice are transmitted through contact with another animal/human that has lice or with an item that has been contaminated through contact with an infected animal/human. For example, brushes can have lice in them and when used on more than one person or animal the lice can then move from one to another.

no Pet's cant get lice. It depends on what your pet is - if it is a sheep, goat or bird than yes it can get lice. Human head lice cannot survive on pets. They need human blood to survive and live. Lice are extremely fragile in the environment (dehydrate VERY quickly) and cannot live longer than 24 hours without a human blood meal (they don't live on pets). Focusing on items worn in the last 24 hours, bedsheets, combs/brushes will cover your possible exposure from the environment. Experts believe lice transmission from inanimate objects to be less than 2%. So cover your bases but don't fine tooth comb the carpet!

How big can head lice get?
Well it depends. When a lice jumps onto your head, it lays eggs all through your head. They are tiny at first, but in at least 7 days they get bigger as the baby lice inside the egg grows. After 7 days, the nits, or "eggs" hatch. That will make the lice bugs tiny where you cannot even really see them.. after time the lice bugs grow bigger. More and more will lay eggs and continue to hatch if you don't treat them right away! I recommend RID or washing your hair in vinegar. It helped me, and I haven't had lice since then.
