Lake McConaughy near Ogallala is the largest lake in Nebraska at around 35,000 acres when full. The second largest is Harlan County Lake in the south central part of the state near Alma, Ne. Major rivers in Nebraska include the Platte, which runs through the middle of the state, the Niobrara in northeast Nebraska and the Republican in the south. The Missouri river constitutes Nebraska's eastern border.
There are no major bodies of water that border Wyoming. There are, however six states that do. Starting from the north and going clockwise, they are Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Colorado, Utah and Idaho.
