∙ 12y agoAn apple enchilada is a flour tortilla rolled with apples inside with sauce poured over it.
If making them at home, fresh apples can be cooked with (or without) a bit of cinnamon before placing them on the tortilla and rolling it. Canned apple pie filling can also be used.
Sauce can be made by bringing 1/3 cup butter (or margarine), 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup packed brown sugar and 1/2 cup water to a boil and pouring it evenly over the enchiladas. To heat them, they can be placed in a preheated 175 degree oven for 20 minutes.
