Some of the Rocky Mountains and some of the High Plains. And also, famously, the elevation is 1 mile above sea level (hence Denver's nickname "The Mile-High City")

Colorado has many physical features. Probably the most notable one is the Rocky Mountains. They span north and south up the middle of the state. There are many 14,000 foot peaks in the state of Colorado; famous ones include Pikes Peak and Longs Peak. Colorado is also has an arid climate and in the southwest part of the state it is very hot and dry in the summers with cactus growth and tumbleweeds. Colorado also has many rivers and streams that start in the mountains and flow downward.

Denver, CO is pretty high up, as a matter of fact, it's a mile above sea level. From my research, it seems to be a little hilly. Denver is close to the Rocky Mountain's, S. Platte River, and a few beaches. It also has some historical museums. The climate isn't good for people with breathing problems because of the lack of oxygen. If you want to visit Denver, you should go. It's a lot of fun.

It is best expressed as seen from the summit of Pikes Peak; * 'Oh beautiful, for spacious skies, and amber waves of grain, for, Purple mounted mountainsides .....' * The physical geography of Colorado is exactly as expressed by Katherine Bates. Only Alaska can display an equivalent diversity. Simply replace waves of grain with seas of crab and the picture still exists

The northeastern part of Colorado is in the mountains. The southeastern part is flat desert-like where a lot of tornadoes happen since that area is part of Tornado Alley.
