There are many reasons against whaling. The primary reasons include ethical and humanitarian grounds that highly advanced marine mammals such as whales and porpoises are intelligent and sentient life forms. They are also highly endangered by human activity (such as whaling and fishing itself). Whaling on these grounds is cruelty and risks destroying other intelligent life on Earth to unnecessary extinction.
There are no pros, so most nations just don't do it. The Antarctic treaty prohibits whaling south of 60 degrees South Latitude. There are nations that violate the treaty, and recourse waits.
The cons are that there is a group of people that will be out of work, as would also be the case if every one gave up smoking. The pro is that animals are not being dragged out of the oceans and dissected alive to supply the wants of a relatively small group of people .
America is against whaling. They almost put whales out of the ocean for good when they did do whaling. They wanted their blubber for oil.
Whaling isn't good at all
Commercial Whaling has been banned since 1986 by the International Whaling commission. However, scientific whaling is allowed to strict quotas.
Protesting and intervening with whaling ships
Whaling happens in oceans, not on continents.
Whaling stopped in Australia is 1979
If you mean whales, they die painfully.
Well scientific whaling as basically when you do scientific research on whales. This is actually one of Japans excuse for whaling but of course their lying they use it for food and oil and all that (STOP WHALING!)
Whaling goes back more then 5,000 years.
Whaling affects the population of whales, and in great numbers.
