They can be polite gestures,remarks or behavior such as saying please and thank you, hello have a nice day etc. or visiting a new neighbour.

i only know a couple. if you ask friends if they want to get something to eat you don't split the check, you pay for it. as they say in France "inviter=payer" or "to invite=to pay"
