Kids probably think that dandelions are magic because they get to blow the seed, that is connected to the parachute, and the seeds fly around because of the wind and their breaths. Also, the white puffy looking dandelion, after the yellow flower is gone, looks like a wand, so that is probably why kids think they are magic.
