Desert tortoises have only one preditor-- worms.

This may seem weird, but it is true. Worms-- any kind. Inch worms, even! When worms even touch the tortoise, he screams, jumps, cracks his shell, and for women tortoises this is especially dangerous. The shell can go into their anal or vaginal cavities, making the poor tortoise permanently pregnant with her own baby tortoises. Since she had sex with herself, this is very dangerous, and she will most likely die.
