There are many differences between plant and animal cells. Some of the differences are:

  • Plant cells have cell walls made of cellulose; animals cells have a cell membrane, not a cell wall.
  • The cell walls of plants contain plasmodesmata - microscopic channels - that traverse the cell walls of the cells; animal cells contain no plasmodesmata
  • Plant cells have a big main vacuole in them; animal cells have many small vacuoles.
  • Plant cells contain chloroplasts and use photosynthesis to help produce food; no animal cell ever contains chloroplasts.
  • Plant cells are rectangular in shape; animal cells are circular, irregular or defined shapes depending on the type of cell
  • Animal cells have a centrosome; plant cells do not.
  • Animal cells have a cytoskeleton but plant cells do not.

Does plants and animal cells have no differences?

Yes, there are differences between plants and animal cells, following differences can be considered : 1) Plant cells have cell wall which is absent in animal cell. 2) Plant cell lack centrioles whereas animal cells have centrioles.

What are the differences between different animal cells?

Plants have a cell wall when animal cells don't. Also, plant cells have a a bigger vacuole then animal cells do.

What are 3 differences between plant and animal cells?

animal cells have centrioles which plants do not have. animal cell are heterotrophs and plants are autotrophs plants cells have cell walls composed of cellulose and animal cells do not have any.

What are two differences cells and animal cells?

plant cell shave a cell wall - animal cells do not plants cells have chlorophyll - animal cells do not

What are two structural differences between animal and plant?

The two structural differences between plant cells and animal cells are: 1) Plants have a cell wall in addition to cell membrane In animals cell walls are absent 2)Plant cells are generraly larger in size. Animal cells are smaller than plant cells.

What are some differences with both animal and plant cells?

The major difference between them is that an animal cell does NOT have a cell wall and chloroplast like those in plants.

Does animal cells have mitochondria?

Plants and animals share many similarities and differences in the cells they have. Both plants and animals have mitochondria cells present.

What are the main differences between and animal cells?

Plants cells have chloroplasts and cell walls. Animal cells have centrioles, lysosomes and lack cell walls and chloroplasts. Also, animal cells usually have smaller vacuoles while plant cell have one large main vacuole
