The interior core contains many nuclear properties which gives of huge amounts of heat which then heats the core.
Often Venus is called Earth's sister planet. This is because they are similar in size. However, their other properties such as atmosphere, temperature, etc are different.
The chemical nature of the substance. The rare earths all have a similar 'outer shell', and differ only in their 'inner shells', hence the similarity of many of their properties.

Lanthanum is not inherently magnetic because it does not have unpaired electrons in its electron shell that would give rise to magnetic properties. However, lanthanum can be found in some alloys that have magnetic properties due to the presence of other magnetic elements like iron or cobalt.
