there are many events that could course mass extinction there's meteor impact, decease, a super volcano like the toba eruption which almost wiped out early man and there's us man there's also another ice age which wiped out thousands of species including the mammoth, the sabre-tooth cat, the cave lion and many more or it cud be a coalition with another planet
Climate change, people slaughtering too many of the species, lack of food, ect.
Their bodies aren't adapted to the new environment yet.
MAN!
Yes. If a certain area has a group of animals living in a compact space, that species could become extinct easily. Also, a tsunami could cover a large area, harming species and the food chain which could later lead to extinction.
It could cause extinction !!
cheetah's aren't extinct...... but like poachers and stuff could eventually lead to their extinction.
I hypothesized that extinction occurs not only due to natural events but also significantly due to human activities, such as habitat destruction, pollution, and climate change. I believed that the loss of biodiversity could lead to destabilized ecosystems, affecting food chains and human livelihoods. Additionally, I considered that the extinction of species can be irreversible, emphasizing the importance of conservation efforts to protect endangered species and their habitats. Overall, I viewed extinction as a complex issue requiring urgent attention and action.
The most likely cause of extinction for a species with only a few remaining members is a loss of genetic diversity, which can lead to inbreeding and reduced adaptability to environmental changes. Additionally, factors such as habitat destruction, climate change, or the introduction of invasive species can further threaten their survival. A sudden change in their environment or the emergence of a new predator or disease could also quickly lead to extinction.
the definition of endangered species is species who are close to extinction, or dying out; in the risk of extinction this is my personal definitionWhen an animals numbers become too low to sustain a viable population, it becomes an endangered species.
when a predator developes a population growth increase, its prey will be over-hunted and could cause premature extinction
Any factor that in nature prevents interbreeding between individuals of the same species or of closely related species, for example geographic separation is itself a reproductive isolation because is a factor that prevents interbreeding. -extinction of one species -production of infertile offspring -development of physical differences
Global warming changes natural habitats making them unliveable for many species ==== Global warming was the first effect identified that was shown to lead to species extinction events. For instance, a mountain frog would migrate from lower to higher elevations annually to survive. The species is now extinct because of global climate instability. The frog reached the top of the mountain and it was still too warm and their species died, all of them; extinct. There is a difference between Mass Extinction and Global Extinction. Mass Extinction is where a large percentage of a species dies. -- This is like a plague that wipes out 90% of a species Global Extinction is where the entire population of a species becomes extinct. -- This is like the mountain frog, it is completely extinct -- Melting of the Methane Permafrost could release enough methane to kill all humans Total Extinction is where all species globally become extinct; including ourselves. -- A large asteroid, black hole on a trajectory with our solar system, a near region super-nova, super-volcano eruption, abnormally large Solar Mass Ejection, ...
