∙ 11y agoFlexibility is the absence of rigidity in your muscles.
One flexible person may be able, for example, to:
- Touch his feet with his hands, having the legs straight
- Twist her back so that her straight legs and back look to the same direction
- Join both hands between the scapulas, having one elbow over and the other below the scapulas' level
- Touch the floor simultaneously with both knees, having the feet close to the perineum
- Touch the ears with the knees
- Touch the head with the feet, both from front and backwards (something quite advanced)
* Note: be aware of your own limits exercising your flexibility and never try to exceed them

Stretching
Improve your flexibility and range of motion (helps prevent injuries) by doing strength exercises with a full range of motion, unless you are in rehabilitation. Rehab exercises are done to restore your full range of motion. It is a misconception that strength training makes your body's muscles tight and inflexible. This won't happen if you consistently improve your joints' range of motion and perform exercises with full range of motion. You can be strong and flexible. Doing regular stretching and flexibility exercises also improves your range of motion.
There are many different exercise programs designed to improve flexibility. However, one of the best is the centuries old practice of yoga. A good yoga series is designed to increase both flexibility and strength throughout the body.
