In 1993 Brazils GDP per capita was 5500, which is quiet low, in 1998 it was 6625 and 2003 was 7600, 2007 was 9700 and in 2011 reached 11900! This is a really big rise in the countries wealth and is now the ninth largest economy through PPP (purchasing power parity). Although in 2007 21% of the population were still below the poverty line.
