The ABS (Anti-lock Brake System) module has detected a fault in the system so it illuminates the ABS light to warn you. As long as the light remains on the ABS system will not function should you need it. Once the problem is fixed the module will clear the ABS light. To start with have the vehicle scanned for codes. The codes will lead you to the problem. Your local auto parts store will perform this service for zip if you purchase the parts to fix it from them.
