they e made up of glass which is strewn to around the same thickness as a hair fibre (strand of hair)
I don't know much about this answer however I think the fastest data transfer cables are currently: USB 3.0 (Windows) Thunderbolt (Mac) *Not sure of what products have been designed with USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt. I do know that some Windows computers and storage devices do have USB 3.0 and the NEW MacBook Air does have Thunderbolt. PLEASE UPDATE WITH MORE SPECIFIED ANSWERS AND DETAILS.
Fiber-optic is transmitted using light so it is unaffected by electromagnetic intererence.
An optical cable is a plastic or fiberglass wire that transmits digital audio from one device to the other.
Wireless is just that; it's a wireless connection to your modem or router, which works by sending information through the air, much like cell phones or radio. By that same token, it is subject to interference, and people other than yourself may be able to remotely access your Internet connection if they can get past whatever security you've set up for it. Ethernet cable on the other hand is a physical cable for sending the same information; because it is not subject to the same interference as wireless, it is more reliable. Furthermore, if you make it so that you need to physically connect with a router, you can completely prevent the above scenario of someone hacking into and using your Internet connection through wireless. However, getting that physical connection can be arduous in a household with multiple computers because you need to find a way to get the cable from those computers to the router; avoiding this one-time hassle is why many people choose to use wireless instead.
they are not planning on replacing all the wiring inside your home. What they are planning on doing is running a fiber line to the side of your house, called a "drop", similar to what you already have except it is coaxial cable. The advantage is much higher bandwidth which gives you faster internet because you are no longer "sharing" bandwidth with other cable users. Plus it opens up bandwidth for a ton more HD channels. The disadvantages to this would be they may either make you pay for the drop (which I doubt), or increase service rates. Either way, it is expensive to the provider and they would have to make it up somewhere.
Optacal fiber cables are the fastest network cables in which the signals are transmiited nearly at the speed of light. they are very expesive because they are made of fiber glasses.
fiber optic is a cable of nylon fiber. it is made up of two layers. one is outer coating and inner one is cladding. refractive index of cladding is less than that of outer core. light is reflected inside it and hence convey messages
The laser shines through the fiber optic cable because the edge of the inside of the cable can act as a mirror. This is called internal reflection.
Both are meant to transfer signals, but they use quite different technologies.Copper will transport electrical signals.Fiber optic will transfer the signal as a ray of light.Of course, both are part of special technologies; fiber optics cable needs special switches and network cards to work with it.Both are meant to transfer signals, but they use quite different technologies.Copper will transport electrical signals.Fiber optic will transfer the signal as a ray of light.Of course, both are part of special technologies; fiber optics cable needs special switches and network cards to work with it.Both are meant to transfer signals, but they use quite different technologies.Copper will transport electrical signals.Fiber optic will transfer the signal as a ray of light.Of course, both are part of special technologies; fiber optics cable needs special switches and network cards to work with it.Both are meant to transfer signals, but they use quite different technologies.Copper will transport electrical signals.Fiber optic will transfer the signal as a ray of light.Of course, both are part of special technologies; fiber optics cable needs special switches and network cards to work with it.
1000baseLX is a fiber optic standard for gigabit transmission. It can be up to 5 km using SMF fiber. MMF fiber will allow a maximum segment length of 550 meters.nodes per cable segament

yes indeed but as long as the plugs are made up of notrogenic-solution.
Is that one of them trees they grow fiber optics on?HaHa I couldnt pass that one up! I am ok now...Fiber optic or LED?Neither should above warm.I think fiber optic would be slightly warmer of the twol
a basic cable system works as follows information is received via satellite from the information providers also known as a channel in what is known as a head end where they process the signal and insert it into qualms which leave the head end on fiber optic cable by laser till it gets to the neighborhood or neighborhoods where there are subscribers. the fiber optics then hit what is called a node. at the node a fiber optical receiver changes it from light into db which is then sent out on distribution style coaxial cable usually a plastic based coating quantum reach style cable or qr cable. it then hits an amplifier where it is jumped up to about 40 db give or take as it travels down the street. where there is a house there is a tap in the qr cable, which is where the coaxial cable people are most familiar with starts

One can purchase fiber optic angels online from eBay, Amazon, QVC, K-Mart, and Sears. One can buy them wholesale from Little House of Gifts. Fiber optic angels are Christmas ornaments which light up.
