We know about most of the common elements on Mars, such as iron, silicon, hydrogen and oxygen. Scientists expect to find almost every metal in the Periodic Table on Mars, but the exploring probes sent there have not been equipped to do that much analysis. The probes were intended to discover if there was any water, and if there was life.
