The Bible helps man in many more than four ways, but the greatest of these is learning about Jesus Christ who makes man "a new creature" -

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (2 Corinthians 5.17)

Another thought:

1. As mentioned above, the Bible introduces us to God's means of saving mankind, his son, Jesus (John 3:16)

2. Also, the Bible tells us where we and the entire universe came from (Genesis 1:1)(Revelation 4:11)

3. Provides us with wisdom, which, if followed, can help us live successful and fulfilling lives (Psalm 119:105)

4. And holds out a wonderful future for faithful mankind (John 17:3, Matthew 5:5, 1 John 2:17)

If you are simply going to look at the bible as something you use at your will and something you take from as a flesh man as if it were some magic instrument you wield at your whim, then your prospective about our Father and your understanding of your purpose in the flesh is completely skewed.

You are here in this flesh life as a trial (you are physically on trial). Your actions (righteousacts) earn your soul the right during judgment (Revelation 20), to participate in the 3rd (and final) earth age (2nd Peter chapter 3). Those souls who do not earn that right, are destroyed in the lake of fire, and wiped from all memory (as if they never existed).

Biblical text is your instruction book, your history book of good and bad examples, its your road map, it defines your mooring points, which allow you to secure your soul a spot in the next earth age (often referred to as the eternity). Just remember Christ warned you in Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21 that there would be false teachers and prophets in our time, so you must seek out a bible teacher you know you can trust. Ask our Father for guidance concerning selection and listen and pay attention, as he moves you in the correct direction (often not the direction you would choose).

Our Father gave each one of us the free will to choose (except the elect such as Paul). Therefore choose wisely as your soul depends upon the choice you make. Many men will attempt to influence you using their doctrine (especially metaphysics and dialectics). Remember its your free will and you have the authority to choose on your own. Read John (New Testament) chapter 10. As you are reading, pay attention to verse 9 where Christ tells you;

" I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture." That word pasture is Greek word 3542 "nom-ay" it is the feminine form of word 3551, Pasture i.e. (the act) feeding (figuratively spreading of a gangrene), or (the food) pasturage.

3551 is Greek word "nom-os" and it means: (to parcel out,especiallyfood or grazing to animals); law (through the idea of prescriptive usage), genitive case (regulation), specially, (of Moses (including the volume); also of the Gospel); or figuratively (a principle).

Christ will never drive you, like you see men do. He is the door, a right which he earned on the cross. He will not lie to you and he stated you are free to go in and out. He also states you will find pasture (Good food from the shepherd who leads the flock, the shepherd who paid the price and proved himself worthy) Do mans doctrines allow you to go in and out? And what pasture do mans doctrines offer you? Remember, mans doctrine is limited to this world of the flesh and does not extend past that point, therefore all the understanding which man can offer you is limited to a fixed place in time (this earth age - 2nd Peter chapter 3), how will that understanding help you when the rules of the game change and there is no longer any flesh man, as the Apostle Paul discusses in 1 Corinthians chapter 15; especially verses 50-55.

The answer to your question is not bound up in four ways, its bound up in the statements Christ and the Apostle Paul made to you concerning your soul. Biblical text (if you are English speaking I would stick with the KJV), is your education, its your beacon of truth in a sea of deception, its a letter your Father had written to you which holds your history as his child, his rules and his plan going foreword (which you have the freedom to participate in if your choose wisely). It holds his rules which you must obey (just like any Father). The bible will extend you beyond flesh man, so you understand what happened in the first earth age and what is to occur in this second earth age and what to expect in the third earth age (2nd Peter chapter 3).

In Summary, there are not just four things you will learn, there are many things you will learn from studying biblical text. Deciding to crack open the book and learn those things, is your choice. Start with John Chapter 8 and 2nd Peter chapter 3, take it for a spin and see how it goes from there. Ask our Father and Christ for guidance, remember Christ is the door and he is the shepherd, therefore he is not there as a wolf to consume you, he is there as a shepered to take care of you and guide you. Being a sheperd takes a lot of patience and disipline, especially when those of the flock go astray.

Think about how you would react if you had a sheep who was constantly going astray. Would you be a sheperd and keep refocusing them or would you eventually get tired of their antics and treat them badly? It takes a massive amount of patience to deal with the sheep (especially the sheep such as myself who have the tendency to wander off down mans pig trails from time to time, yes even I do stupid things and the shepherd must come and find me .... again). However if you turn back to the door (Christ), you can always go back in and find pasture. I hope you find this answer helpful and I hope you choose wisely, for only you can choose for yourself.
