Plush toys are not very popular with our young teenage boys. I do not think a plush toy is a good gift for your son. If he was younger than 12, yes but since he is 14 years old he has outgrown stuffed animals (unless he has a mental disorder which mentally stunts his mental age). I recommend some kind of video game, computer game, or music gift for your son instead of a plush toy.
For toys and such, places such as Wal-Mart or Toys 'R Us can give you great deals. If you aren't afraid of buying things over the Internet, shopping sites such as eBay or Amazon.com also sell Mario plush toys at a good price.
