I would say just about any bunnies as long as they aren't wild. If you have the proper knowledge and home for your bunny I think any bunny would be okay for a child.

It COULD be too hot. It will depend on the size of the lamp, how far away from the bunnies, and the temperature of the place where you have the bunny box. Except for extreme cold, bunnies usually do well with a nesting box with lots of good clean bedding for them to snuggle down into.
