Mature. In some breed shows the 5th birthday bumps the horse up into the regular classes. Up until 5 you can show your horse in training bits and you can keep them in the classes with other young horses. That way they compete with horses their approximate age and skill level.
After the 5th year you ride against older horses that have more experience and training. It just evens things a bit for young horses. Sometimes their may not be ready for a regulation bit until their 5.
It depends what type of male horse, like e.g. below;A not neutered adult male horse is called a STALLION, or if older than 5 years.A neutered adult male horse is called a GELDING.A male horse at the age of under 5 years old is called a COLT.
If you'd like to get more than 5 horses, you'll have to be a subscriber and buy a ranch. After you buy your ranch, build yourself a barn.
Charles V(5) had many horses at his disposal and not just one horse. The horses names were not recorded very often and it is unknown what he called his horses.
If it has never been broken in, I do not recommend riding it, but you can hire someone to break it in for you. Breaking a horse in is when you ride it for the first time. Young horses like that have much more strength than older horses, so controlling them is likely not an option.
