If we assume that 'humans' refers to modern homo sapiens, then the evolutionary pathway is:

Sahelanthropus tchadensis - 7 mya.

Orrorin tugenensis - 6 mya.

Ardipithecus (genus) - 5.5 to 4.4 mya.

Australopithecus (genus) - 4 to 2 mya.

Kenyanthropus (genus, containing one speices) - 3 to 2.7 mya.

Paranthropus (genus) - 3 to 1.2 mya.

Homo (genus, which contains homo sapiens) - 2 mya to present.

Homo sapiens - 195 thousand years ago to present.

It is currently unclear which if any of the other homospecies were ancestors of homo sapiens. It is thought none are, and that instead they have the same lineage. It is probable that homo sapiens developed from one of the earlier other homo species, and may have interbreeded with some of the "cousin" species at some point early in their developement, before the complete separation into distinct species happened.

Why do people think you are not descended from apes?

Many people misunderstand or misinterpret the theory of evolution, leading them to believe that humans are not descended from apes but rather that humans and apes share a common ancestor. This misconception can stem from a lack of understanding of evolutionary biology, religious beliefs, or cultural perspectives. Additionally, the term "descended from apes" can be misleading, as it suggests a linear progression rather than a branching tree of evolution. In reality, both modern humans and apes have evolved separately from a shared ancestor millions of years ago.

What percentage of modern humans are directly descended from cro-magnon?

According to Anthropology, all modern humans are descended from Cro-Magnon. The name simply refers to the early Homo sapiens existing about 40,000 years ago, this was when humans started to develop culture and new technology, which eventually led to they way we are today. They are called Cro-Magnon because the first fossil of this kind was found in a cave, called Cro-Magnon, in France.

What was the first race of humans?

There are several books and websites that detail human evolution. Seeing as how modern humans are descended from 4 different ancient hominids, its difficult to discuss when Homo Sapien officially began. We are descended from Homo Erectus, Homo Denisova, Homo Neanderthalensis, and Homo floresiensis. Those 4 species interbred and formed what became the modern human or Homo Sapien.
