Julius Caesar had no "infirmities" to speak of. Towards the end of his life some of the ancient writers think that he was simply getting tired and worn out, but nevertheless he was well enough to be planning a major military campaign at the time of his assassination. The ancient writers claimed he had the "falling sickness" or epilepsy. However this is strongly disputed today and it is thought that Caesar suffered from low blood sugar or hypoglycemia. The symptoms of both conditions are identical. Since the ancients had no idea of blood sugar, but were familiar with epilepsy, they labeled Caesar as being an epileptic.
