Man is a main threat to the koala. Apart from clearing koala habitats, he drives cars without regard for wildlife, allows his unsupervised pets to maul native wildlife, and even engages in torturing harmless wildlife. Domestic dogs are particularly dangerous, as they savagely attack koalas for no other reason than the instinct to chase.
