[1] Ladybugs are ka beneficial insects. For they feed on garden's bad guys: aphids, mites, scale, and thrips. [2] So wide open garden spaces are where they feed and lay eggs. In essence, that's where they go grocery shopping. [3] And protected spaces are where they overwinter. All they're trying to do is find a warm place when they're found swarming under rocks and yard litter, on tree bark, and in buildings.
