The Pyrenees, The Vosges, The Jura, the "Massif Central" and the Alps make up the five major mountain systems of France.
There are no mountains near Bordeaux; it is about equidistant from the Massif Central to the East and the Pyrenees to the South.
The Pyrenees are on the French/Spanish border, the Alps are on the French/Italian border, and the Massif Central is in the central south.
