Dynamic routing protocols are "languages" routers use to communicate the details and status of networks to which they are connected. Examples include RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP and IS-IS.

They are called dynamic because they can respond to network changes, such as a failed link, a new link or in some cases a change to a link (perhaps a changed bandwidth value). This is in contrast to a static route, which an administrator must type in manually and which cannot automatically respond to network changes.

Two routers must be running the same routing protocol to exchange route information; RIP cannot talk directly to OSPF, for example. The router admin must enable the routing protocol, then instruct the router which of its connected networks it should advertise to other routers running the same protocol.

There are two types fo routing protocols one is EGP(Exterior gateway protolcol) and another is BGP( Border gateway protocol), BGP includes RIP,IGRP,EIGRP and OSPF.

What is dynamic routing technology?

Dynamic routing is a networking technique that provides optimal data routing. Unlike static routing, dynamic routing enables routers to select paths according to real-time logical network layout changes. In dynamic routing, the routing protocol operating on the router is responsible for the creation, maintenance and updating of the dynamic routing table. In static routing, all these jobs are manually done by the system administrator. Dynamic routing uses multiple algorithms and protocols. The most popular are Routing Information Protocol (RIP) and Open Shortest Path First (OSPF).

Which routing protocol has the most trustworthy administrative distance by default?

generally static routing protocol has the most trustworthy administrative distance .i.e; 1 and in dynamic routing protocols EIGRP has the best AD.

What are the two most common interior gateway protocols?

The most common Network routing protcols used for interior routing is OSPF and RIP. RIP is still common because of its compability whit older hardware and software.

Why do link-state protocols converge faster than most distance vector protocols?

Distance vector protocols compute their routing tables before sending routing updates; link-state protocols do not.

List the 2 classful routing protocols and explain the most serious limitation of these two protocols?

Why is a large' busy network more likely to use dynamic routing?

Because dynamic routing automatically selects the most efficient route between nodes, reducing the possibility for human error

What types of routing protocols allow routers to exchange information?

That would be a distance-vector routing protocol. Examples (taught at Cisco Academies) include RIP, IGRP (obsolete in the new version of the curriculum), and EIGRP - but those are only for IP, and there are also distance-routing protocols for other networking protocols, for example, RIP for IPX.

What are the two most common types of compressors?

The two most common types of compressors are the positive-displacement and the velocity or dynamic.

Which four are WAN data-link layer protocols?

What are the two most commonly encountered link-state routing protocols in ip network?

Routers that run a link-state protocol can establish a complete topology of the network. The shortest path first algorithm is used.
