∙ 13y agoOne advantage is that it acts as a stable water source (which can be used to generate electricity or provide water for people). However, a disadvantage to this is that the production of dams generates large carbon dioxide emissions from the cement laying, and any migratory patterns of fish will be disrupted (such as the breeding cycle for salmon).
