"Pintos" or "Paints" .
Pintos are any breed of horse with spotting patterns other than those of an appaloosa. Paints are primarily derived from crop out quarter horses that had more white than allowed by the AQHA breed standards.
They looked like regular every day paints and pintos!
There are alot of mixed color horses. Paints, pintos, appaloosas, roans, etc.
Pinto is a color not a breed and they are not confined to specific areas. American Paints can be double registered as pintos with both the tobiano and overo color patterns accepted. Pintos can be any breed of horse as long as they meet the color requirements.
