Platypeople are giant hybrids of platypus and man. Kind of like the minotaur, half bull & half man.

'Platypeople' was a term used as a plural for 'platypus' in the popular kid's TV show, Phineas and Ferb. It was used alongside 'platypuses' and 'platypi'.
