Currently we do not have any good solutions for disposing of the nuclear waste, which will remain dangerously radioactive for thousands of years. Additionally, accidents and nuclear power plants can be catastrophic and can potentially make an area uninhabitable.

How do you calculate change in potential energy?

more often than not, potential energy is calculated, not measured, based on which means of energy conversion you are looking for. Potential energy released by falling is not the same as potential energy of a nuclear reaction, although the same object can do both

What is energy potential measured in?

Potential energy can't be measured directly but can be calculated in between two states. Potential energy is also sometimes called as the mechanical energy or stored energy. Every object or body has the ability to have potential energy by different means. Springs carry potential energy when it is compressed or stretched, and when released, all that potential will turn to kinetic energy because the body gains motion. Potential energy always changes into kinetic energy again by different means. Potential energy is calculated by using this expression. Ep = mgh, where m= mass, g= gravity if the body is at height, h= the height.

Is a bicycle coasting on a level sidewalk potential or kinetic energy?

kinetic because it is using force. it would be potential if it was at the top of a hill.

Explain the ideas of potential and kinetic energy using a rubber band as your example?

When you stretch the rubber band you are doing work and energy is stored in the elastic, this is potential energy. When you release the band, the potential turns into kinetic and you have movement, until the elastic has returned to its unstressed original state. Im bored humor me

Example of kinetic energy?

Anything that had potential energy then converted to kinetic energy. A good example would a ball. If you are playing bowling and you are swinging the ball backwards and about to through it foward, the ball has potential energy. Once you release it, and while the ball is falling it has kinetic energy. The energy of the changes from potential to kinetic energy. Hope this helps XD
