There is no problem in using prescription safety glasses as they are designed for a specific job ie yours!

However if you are ordering them online you may want to think about what problems you might run into here. For example

Do you have a recent prescription you can use?

What size of glasses do you need?

What safety standards do you need to fulfil for your workplace?

It is always best to check with your safety supervisor at work to confirm the safety requirements for your glasses and your workplace. These will vary depending on where you live.

Make sure you choose the right safety standards for you job.

Is it okay to wear prescription glasses when doing an experiment?

Prescription glasses generally do not provide sufficient eye protection, particularly on the sides. There are several styles of laboratory eye protection that are designed to fit over prescription glasses; you should wear the prescription glasses and safety glasses or safety goggles as well. It's also possible to buy prescription safety glasses, but they're fairly expensive. Again: Ordinary prescription glasses are not a substitute for safety glasses/goggles.

Where can prescription safety goggles be bought?

Yes there are optical stores that avail prescription lenses in safety eyeglasses. There are other options too, such as wearing the safety glass over your normal prescription eyewear. It is less preferred because the safety glass can loosen up and fall off your facial or you can face irritation near your ears. Safety glasses with prescription lenses are made from polycarbonate. This compound is more than 10 times resistant than glass or plastic lenses. They also offer 100 per cent safety from the harmful UV sunlight rays. Thus, you can add a prescription to your safety glasses from an expert and be more productive.
