Best Answer

Sensory neurons (afferent neurons) send sensory signals from the body to the Central Nervous System. Their cell bodies are always found in a ganglion outside the central nervous system. Motor neurons (efferent neurons) send signals from the central nervous system to the muscles and glands of the body. Their cell bodies are always located in the central nervous system.

The main difference is that motor neurons move signals from the central nervous system to a central organ or point while sensory neurons move signals from the central organ or point to the central nervous system.

some structural differences are that the cell body is at the end of a motor neuron and in the middle of a sensory neuron. another difference is that the sensory neuron has receptors on the end.
