How does the surface area and climate affect the rate of weathering?

The rate if weathering in a rock is determined by surface area, temperature, moisture and chemical composition. Surface area effects the rate because weathering occurs on the surface of the rock; therefore a whole rock will weather slower than that same rock in fragments. Temperature and moisture (climate) effect the rate, because weathering is both chemical reactions (hydrolysis, etc) involving water, who's speed is controlled by how warm the system is, and by physical weathering, often involving water (freeze-that etc). The chemical composition is in reference to how stable the rock is in s given environment, and is indicated by Bowman's Reaction Series.

What is the word for muscular contraction involving muscle movement?

Isotonic contractions are the type that involve muscle movement. This movement is due to a change in length as the muscle fibers shorten or lengthen.

Is the erosion and weathering a chemical change?

Both are mechanical, physical changes, involving the removal of surface material by the action of wind or water. But both can also involve chemical changes which would tend to change the rate of erosion or weathering - for example, acidic rain might cause limestone to weather faster than neutral rain water would.

What is the difference between atelectasis and pneumonia?

Atelectasis is the collapsing of a lungwhen there is an interference with the natural forces that promote lung expansion. Pneumonia is an inflammatory process and infection, usually involving fluid in the lungs.Atelectasis is basically a collapsed lung.

Is the big bang theory a conceptual or physical model?

Both - The Big Bang Theory is comprised of the a physical model for the evolutionary expansion of our universe within a traditional fourth dimensional frame of reference for our SpaceTime continuum, and then a more conceptual model involving the evolutionary expansion of the universe from its inception as a singularity to our reality for existence in a traditional fourth dimensional SpaceTime continuum.

How do you use Involving in a sentence?

This novel is very "involving". Making x is a very complex process, "involving" lots of time and effort.

Is isothermal expansion reversible under ideal conditions?

No. All processes involving heat transfer are not reversible, since they result in an increase in entropy. Isothermal expansion implies heat transfer to maintain the system at a constant temperature. Normally an expanding gas would cool if there were no heat entering the system. Adiabatic processes involve no heat transfer and are reversible. The temperature can (and usually does) change during an adiabatic process.
