The simplest tools of primitive man include sticks and rocks (stones). Wooden sticks can be used to dig up roots and other things with. They can also be used as a lever to pry with, and the user could get under rocks and logs in search of edible things. Sticks can be sharpened to a point and used to stab or spear animals, or heavier ones can be used as clubs. With the addition of worked stone, spears and daggers can be made, or a stone hammer head can be attached to a handle. A stone could be used as a projectile. Stone with a knapped edge could be used as a knife or scraper, and the stone-tipped weapons were already mentioned.
